As a boat builder you could work all kinds of designs from fishing boats to luxury yachts. as an apprentice you will learn skills such as building the internal structure and fit outs which include plumbing, engineering, interior design, deck fittings and engine installation.. Apprentices work alongside adult mentors learning mathematical and carpentry skills while building wooden boats. after completing a four-week trial period with stipend, apprentices are paid an hourly wage which is based upon attendance and performance..
