Safe Speed Rule Boating






Safe speed. all vessels must travel at a safe speed at all times. a safe speed cannot be expressed as a maximum or minimum number of knots because it varies with circumstances and conditions. the master (skipper) must continually assess the safety of the vessel’s speed.. Similar to rules that govern the safe flow of traffic for vehicles, there are rules that govern the safe maneuvering of boats. called coast guard navigation rules, they are also known as “nav rules” or “rules of the road.” although casual boaters aren’t required to know the rules of the road, it is highly recommended..
